Plan

Every thing we intend to do in our life needs a rough plan. Not all goes as per the plan but we get a direction and does not get lost in terms of activities done or money spent.

I planned my dates of visit to Goa, two months back in February, 2017. The biggest question was... Is it a right time to visit Goa in Summer???

Many said "it would be too hot of a climate to bear, October to January is the best time of year to visit Goa".

I had no choice as I could get a longer vacation in Summer only and besides that, a little heat is always okay with me and my better half.

Alright, the dates fixed were 15th April 2017 to 20th April 2017. I booked the return flight from Mumbai to Goa for these days with Spicejet. I booked my stay at 'Hotel Supreme Grande' at Calangute, Goa through 'Booking.com'.

A shocker came, when the hotel guy of 'Supreme Grande' called me two days prior saying that the hotel could not honour my reservation done two months back...!!! and asked me to book some other hotel.

MakeMyTrip.com came to my rescue and I booked Hotel 'The Flora Residency' and to my surprise having a better and cheaper room.

Hotel Flora Residency at Umta Vaddo, near Calangute Beach

Executive Room at the Hotel.

Nice Interiors of the Room having A/C.

The 'Seven Seas Restaurant' in house of the hotel.

So, all was get set Go...Goa ...!!!

Travel Tips:

1. It's better to book your flight well in advance, so that you get fair prices. The last moment booking is going to burn your pockets.

2. Check with your hotel if your booking is confirmed few days prior to avoid trouble.

3. Book a hotel having with laundry service. This will help you carry least clothes and your travel bags would be lighter.

4. Rent a bike / scooter at the Goa with charges around Rs. 300 per day. You'll need to add petrol on your own though. The petrol is readily available in the urbanized area in water bottles.

5. Things to bring / buy in Goa at the start of your trip:
  • A selfie Stick if you don't have one.
  • Caps or Hats.
  • Beach wear made of Lycra or similar material.
  • A pair of floaters. Avoid slippers as walking in sand is troublesome.
  • A small bag or fanny pack (preferably water resistant)
  • Any other travel accessory you think necessary for you.
