Day 4

18th April, 2017 :

This was one of the most exciting day of our trip. It was the first time, I was about to do some water sports. After a nice breakfast at hotel, we dressed up into our swim wear with floaters. We took with us a small pouch to carry only essential stuff so that it can be kept in safe locker along with footwear at the beach.

Avoid carrying heavy and large bags at beach while doing water sports, it may not fit the small safe locker at the beach.

We headed to Calangute Beach and reached a Water Sports Booking Stall. The Stall starts at around 10.0 AM in the morning so we reached there after a nice long sleep at hotel.

We booked for Parasailing there. They had two types of Parasailing rides, one for Rs. 700/- per person they called normal ride in which they just carry a person on parachute and lift him up for 30 seconds and pull him back on boat, that's it...!! and another ride for Rs. 1000/- per person they called deep ride in which they carry a person on parachute and dip him twice in waters while lifting and pulling him down.

We boarded a small boat at shore, which took us to main boat in deep sea having equipment installed for Parasailing.

We were 9 people for the ride. We were given life jackets. One by one we all went for an awesome parasailing ride.

At the start I was a little nervous, but later I had a lot of fun being high in the air above deep sea water and twice being dipped into the sea.

While dipping into the sea, one must close eyes and mouth tightly else saline sea water may enter our body causing problems.

The most exciting part of parasailing is going up, hanging under parachute at height above sea and coming down on to the boat. The dipping part was not that exciting for me.

After the water sports, we enjoyed the sea waves at the Calangute Beach till we got very hungry. We returned to hotel and took freshening bath to have our lunch.

At the evening we started towards our next destination.

Anjuna Beach

This beach is really unique as it has a sloping shore and water splashes with quite a force sometimes. Not very crowded and good for couples, and some water sports.

Vagator Beach

After a short time at Anjuna Beach we headed to Vagator Beach that's north of Anjuna Beach. The small road from Anjuna Beach to Vagator Beach went through classic Goan houses and bunglows, some newly started hotels, and one hotel was under construction where we saw this unique 'Full Size Old Car made on the front wall of a hotel under construction' :D

How did that car go up there !!! 😋

Then, on the way we saw this very beautiful Church, white and pure with superb architectural essence. Small yet eye catching.

Finally, after reaching near Vagator Beach, the best beach in Goa as per my better half, we found the road ended on a hill top. A very small plateau on the hill top having scenic beach, down on both sides of it. We had nice tea there, made by local Goan aunty and had some biscuits to energize our evening.

Unlike other beaches there were no parking charges at this spot. Its a nice place to spend the evening and watch sun set from the hill top.

After a nice tea, we descended down the steps from hill top to the beach below.

The beach has a lot of rocky formations that capture one's attention. Being a Civil Engineer, I could not hold myself exploring the distinct rock formations.

The random tangling of metamorphic rock (Marble) and Igneous Rock (Basalt) tells the story of High Geological Drama that this beach must have seen in the past.

Marble and Basalt mixed in a random manner.

Interesting mixture of rocks

We had a short walk along the beach on right side of hill top. I was really fascinated by the combination of sea and rocks at this location.

We enjoyed the beach till the sunset. As the darkness of night started to capture the skies, we headed back to hotel.

This night we had again visited the Calangute Beach to in search of eating 'crabs'. We went to a hotel called 'Hotel Capricorn' just near to the Calangute Beach.

We enjoyed a nice dinner there. The food was tasty and we enjoyed the mock tails 'fruit punch' and 'virgin mojito' there.

After a tasty meal we returned to hotel to finish an awesome day.
